It depends on what you are looking for, if you are looking for a typical airline job flying a big jumbo, then Asia would you your best choice, if you are looking for flying in the corporate industry or different life/living experience than Asia, then stay instructing and work your way up would be something you should consider.

As foreign student, it's very difficult to find somebody sponsor you a work visa for you to stay in the U.S., especially in the aviation industry, because U.S. is the country that trains most pilots, and your company will have to justify to immigration that the position you applied (Flight Instructor in most case) is something that can't find qualified American in the area, plus the visa fee generally cost company $1575 to $2500 depending on the size of the company plus the attorney fee...(generally around $5,000 all together)

If you're lucky to found some company will willing to sponsor you work visa (H1B) then you are mostly likely going to do the lottery if you only have bachelor degree, and you are open to compete to everyone in the world who has bachelor degree for 65,000 caps H1B, unless you have master degree or higher completed in U.S., then you will have your own category for 20,000 caps H1B, but you will also have to justify why your position requires master degree (which is over qualified for flight instructor in most case)

Lottery H1B really depends on the economy, if economy is doing well, chances are more company will sponsor people and therefore there will be a lottery.  Two years ago, H1B was wide open till the year end, last year the chance of getting H1B from 65,000 caps was about 50%, this year was only 30%, if you have master degree, it would be around 70%.

But, don't worry, as most major U.S. airline pilots are retiring next few years, there will be a huge demand of pilots, when majors start hiring people from regionals, and regionals start hiring flight instructors you will have really good chance to find someone whose willing to sponsor foreign student as flight instructor demand increased, and if your sponsor is two-year or four-year college or university, you don't even have to worry about the lottery, because all these college and university educational institutions has their own category for H1B, they can sponsor anyone anytime, but their H1B can only be transferred between school, so if you wanted to go work elsewhere on H1B, you will have to reapply the caps.

As far as I know, there are few schools sponsor foreign students on H1B or Green Card on regular basis, and you can also get a free master degree or PhD as long as you're their employee.  The pay rate for instructor could be anywhere from $12 to $50/hr depends on where you at, your ratings(CFI,CFII, MEI) and your experience. As flight instructor demand is getting higher and higher, I have seem some company offer salary pays between $25,000 and $40,000, some with housing assistance.

I just got my CFI and CFII months ago, and I can't tell you how many job interviews and offers I already got, and these were the one offered the sponsorship, so if you really like to become a flight instructor and get your ATP before moving onto a better job, you will have very good luck finding a company will sponsor you as long as you have your CFI and CFII, if you have MEI would be even better!!

I am not trying to show off my English skill, as I don't have Chinese keyboard on my laptop, this is the only language I can communicate, and I am not trying to scare you about the immigration process either.  I  hope all these information will be helpful to you, and I wish you the best of luck.
